Prospecting For New Home Owners

By Shane Robinson

All businesses should try to get the best value for their marketing investment. Each business is unique and therefore has a specific demographic they target via various marketing efforts. Targeting your company's core demographic while making the marketing budget stretch means using it efficiently.

Some prospect lists contain contact names for people holding specific roles in a company, some have email addresses, and almost all include phone numbers and company address and other available statistical information about the company. Prospect Lists normally come in the form of a spread sheet which makes organizing the information easy. If the business owner has the technical abilities the information contained in the list can be imported into any one of the various CRMs available.

When a business is looking for a prospect list the source of the list and the kind of information required need to be considered. As mentioned not all lists contain email addresses or names of people to contact within the company. Prospect lists that contain this more sought after and difficult to gather information usually cost more to access. The prospect list you purchase should be determined by the campaign you wish to run. For example if you want to run an unaddressed mail campaign you should not concern yourself with finding lists that contain email addresses and contact information. All you need in this case is a prospect list that has companies that are in your desired demographic or business category. If you want to run a call based sales campaign or an addressed mail campaign then you will need a list with company contact names. If your desire is an email campaign approach then you will need to find lists that contain email addressed for the company or the individuals in the company.

Thanks to the internet and all of the information available companies that develop prospect lists have more options available to them than ever before. One new type of list that has become available is a prospect list that allows companies to obtain the mailing address of properties who have new residents. This kind of list is perfect for demographic based businesses. Dental prospect lists, Chiropractor prospect lists, yoga studio prospect lists, Gym prospect lists, and Alarm Companies.

The technology available to companies that develop prospect lists have evolved significantly the past 5 years. More options are available as to the types of data they can monitor and lists they can generate as a result. A new type of list available is a prospect list that allows businesses to market to new home owners. This kind of list is suited to businesses whose clientele are demographic based. New Resident prospect lists are good marketing tools for dental offices, chiropractic offices, pubs restaurants, Gyms, Yoga studios, Alarm Companies etc etc. Prospecting lists containing addresses of new residents are built by monitoring real estate listings and tracking the listings that get removed on a daily basis. When a listing is removed the property is deemed as being sold and that a possession of 90 days is reasonable. Prospecting lists that target new residents only contain address that have been delisted for 90 days. Contact names are not available as this is private information that in not publicly available. It is assumed that there will be a new resident or family living at an address 90 days after the removal of a property from a property listing site.

Prospect lists are a quick and effective way to quickly gather leads for your business. Finding a list is relatively easy, but make sure it contains the info you require. Never be afraid to ask for a sample of the data you can expect before you buy a list. Business is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration. If you want to succeed you need to investigate all opportunities to get your product or service in front of the right people and the fanatic discipline to stay in communication with a prospect in order to turn them into a customer.
